Biography
Elizabeth Weiss is a professor of anthropology at San Jose State University where she teaches courses of human osteology, bioarchaeology, mummies, human evolution, primates and modernity and disease. Her primary research expertise is on osteoarthritis, cross-sectional bone geometry, musculoskeletal stress markers, and stress fractures. Dr. Weiss uses a wide variety of techniques to understand bone health and disease, including CT scans and X-ray analyses, metric studies, and comparative data from living populations, to reconstruct past lifestyles and better understand bone biology.
